This is screen shots of my work from Adobe Photoshop. At the end of the images it shows the first completed draft of one movie poster I intend to create...
I started off with the original image I had taken on my DSLR camera, during the photoshoot. I chose this pose as I wanted to highlight that the protagonist is always being watched when "dreaming". |
I then began to filter the side of the young actor. I enhanced the darkness around his bone structure and his shadow. I also put a green/blue tinge to his skin to give a dream illusion to the image. |
By using the Magic Wand tool, I was able to select the outline of the boy, after I began to duplicate the image and place them after each other, I then increased the darkness and contrast further each duplication I made. |
After, through using the Blur Tool I was able to achieve the dream illusion feel I wanted. By blurring the image of the young actor and his duplications, it creates a mysterious and strange, slightly paranormal feel I was going for. I think the colouring, dark edges and blurring also fit very well with my genre. |
I then began to use the same typeface as the teaser trailer, 'Octin Spraypaint' this allowed all of my pieces to flow in continuity. |
To finish my first draft, I made the colour of my text white to make it stand out from the darker background. I also added drop shadows, emboss and gradients to all of the text to make it stand out more from the image in the background. |
