Teaser Trailer Script

‘Vivid’
Teaser Trailer Script
I have decided to call my teaser trailer 'Vivid'. I believe this suits the plot and genre of the teaser trailer well because 'vivid' can be associated with the clarity of the protagonists dreams vs. reality. I have also decided to have minimal dialogue as I want to use music and sound effects to create an intense mood for the teaser trailer. The following is my short script :

(Characters)
ADAM – Protagonist who has strange dreams that interfere with reality.

STRANGE SHILLOUTTE OF MALE CHILD – psychological element to genre.
__________________________________________________________

* Non – diegetically speaking over the shots, voice-over style *

ADAM

(During first fade in ES)

Dreams; a series of vivid illusions occurring in a person's mind during sleep.

It’s a known fact we only see faces we recognise in our dreams, I don’t know why I know him.

People only remember 10% of their dreams, I don’t. I am burdened with all my dreams.

(ECU of falling asleep before new location)
___________________________________________________________
(Blackout before he wakes up from the dream)

ADAM

Reality isn’t real, dreams are real. Dreams are fake and reality is fake. I’m awake.

(Sound of piano playing from far)

* Black out – word ‘VIVID’ appears followed by release date, website, slogan *

More Ideas for my teaser trailer

For the sound of my teaser trailer I have taken inspiration from my research in The Black Swan movie trailers - in particular number 10 on this clip called "Opposites Attract" - I love the use of classical instruments in creating a climax which is what I want to do in constructing my own teaser trailer. I ideally want to use a piano, beginning with a light comfortable sound with a slight pause and then to change the mood, I will increase the tempo and shorten the notes to make it more haunting.

Through some research I have found tutorials to hep me convey emotions through the different camera angles and shots I will use. this is very important as I want my audience to feel a certain way in order to achieve the psychological thriller genre.

I have also took inspiration from the movie trailer "Memento" a 2000 American neo-noir psychological thriller film directed by Christopher Nolan. I want to have quick paced shots for intensity, also I want to create a sense of flashbacks which is evident within this trailer from the short shots and straight-cutting. I also like how the main character voices his 'condition' through the voice over the top of the shots. This is a technique I want to use as it will be easier for my audience to understand what is going on and what the plot is about.
